RICHAAAAARD! In time for 4th of July, Devolver Digital confirms that the English re-master of Metal Wolf Chaos is coming in August. This game’s quite a story: You play as the 47th President of the United States who’s been betrayed by his VP. To restore freedom to the United States of America, you’ll become the Metal Wolf: A guy in a mecha suit not unlike Armored Core.
Speaking of Armored Core, this game was originally developed by From Software back when they were primarily focused on that series. Though it wasn’t made by the same internal team, Microsoft approached the developer intending to bring a Japanese studio to the original Xbox to boost sales in Japan. Thus, the Japanese-exclusive game focused on the American appeal of the Xbox. It’s probably the peak of Japanese takes on American patriotism. Check out that trailer.
Devolver Digital announced the re-master at E3 2018. Metal Wolf Chaos XD will enhance the game with graphics options up to 4K, improve gameplay systems and touch up the game’s visuals. Most importantly, the original voice acting — which was in English despite being a Japan-only title — is staying as it was. Pre-order it for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Steam America.
