SEGA brings the MMO series back to Xbox
This is nothing short of a shock to anyone keeping tabs on the MMO industry. Today at the Xbox E3 conference we got confirmation via a stylish CG trailer that Phantasy Star Online 2 is finally getting a western localization. While the game originally hit Japanese consoles and PCs back in 2012 it’s never been treated to a western release. It was considered to be dead prospects for many in the west in the same vein as Dragon Quest X. The trailer confirms full Cross-play with Xbox and PC when the game launches in NA in Spring 2020. SEGA has tweeted they’re not yet ready to announce the game for other regions.
The last time Phantasy Star was in the west was in the form of Phantasy Star Universe for the Xbox 360. Check out the trailer above.
#PSO2 is finally making its western debut in North America on Xbox One in Spring 2020. Regarding an EMEA release, there's nothing to confirm right now. We understand it’s frustrating, but when we have more news to share, we will. Stay tuned to https://t.co/jlgi18auv2 for updates. pic.twitter.com/Tjii62el6G
