Square Enix E3: Marvel’s Avengers first trailer

The Avengers as Crystal Dynamics envisions them in 4 player co-op

The long-awaited collaboration between Square Enix and Marvel to deliver an Avengers game has a trailer and launch date. Marvel’s Avengers by the Tomb Raider studio Crystal Dynamics has an original take on the Avengers: not your MCU familiar faces, but the names you know. It’s being described as an action-adventure game to be played alone or in co-op of up to four players. The premise of the game seems rather straightforward Marvel storytelling:

Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Gameplay is scarce in the trailer, but May 15 of next year is soon approaching for the game. Check out the trailer. This is another game headed to Stadia.
