Minecraft Earth gets closed beta trailer

Augmented Reality spinoff Minecraft: Earth has some real gameplay to look at, showing what you can expect if you get access to a Closed Beta coming soon. Check that out:

Minecraft Earth: Closed Beta Announcement

Microsoft describes Minecraft Earth’s building process:

Minecraft has always been a game about creativity, but Minecraft Earth gives you the chance to express yourself on a whole new scale. Create and build on any flat surface in tabletop mode with 3D holograms! Then place your builds at life-size with augmented reality and experience what it’s like to walk through them. Share your masterpieces and delve into others’ creations!

So there’s a whole lot of odd looking shapes coming to your neighborhood very soon. This is the next big entry to the AR space after Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, and even in Minecraft the success of the Pokemon GO formula is not lost in translation. This means you’ll be able to collect Minecraft’s familiar mobs and “Over time, you’ll get the chance to breed unique variants, and use them to populate your builds.”

If you’re interested you can sign up for a closed beta for Android and iOS. You’ll get a unique skin to use in the real game for participating, too.
