Final Fantasy 7 Remake is PS4 exclusive with no plans for other platforms

If you were holding onto hope that Final Fantasy 7 Remake would come to PC after several Sony-branded reveals, I have bad news for you. While the game will release for PS4 on March 3rd next year, questions were asked about whether or not the game was sticking to the plan of being available on PC. After all, the game’s first trailer back in 2015 advertised to play it first on PlayStation. But after a blunder by the Xbox Germany social media team Square Enix has clarified the plans, or lack thereof. The following video surfaced on Facebook:

In a statement to news outlet VGC, we have confirmation that no other platforms are considered at this moment:

As previously announced, Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released for the PlayStation 4 on March 3rd 2020. We have no plans for other platforms.

Which is a terrible shame in the long legacy of Square Enix titles that will later have to suffer through being ported to PC much later. Not to mention, the previous mainline Final Fantasy received a slew of PC only enhancements as Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition. Rev up your wallet for a PS4 if you haven’t done so already.
