No Man’s Sky: Beyond is a huge update to everything

No Man’s Sky has been praised for its cadence of updates improving the overall experience from “misleading” to “entertaining”. Now, it goes further with the Beyond update: a massive overall of existing systems while expanding on everything players like about it. The big system changes lie in multiplayer and VR: a new social hub named the Space Anomaly exists for up to 16 players to meet in. Across the universe, consoles can have up to 8 spacefarers tag along and on PC this goes up to 32 players. Fancy yourself a PSVR or SteamVR headset? You can play the whole game in VR with everyone else too.

While the game is currently on discount to get new players in, existing players will find a lot of niceties. Base building has been overhauled in efficiency and tech trees will guide you in upgrading every system. There are way too many changes and additions to cover in an article, so feel free to check out the visual guide to the patch notes from the developer.

No Man’s Sky is out now for 50% off on PC via Humble Store. You can buy now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and start playing.
