While World of Warcraft has been around since 2004, it’s always bumped up its hardware requirements. Year after year, Azeroth looks a bit better than the last time you saw it. While very modern specifications are in place for recent expansion Battle for Azeroth, going back in WoW’s history also allows you to go back in time in recommended hardware. Blizzard has quoted PCs from around 2007 being able to run the game under these requirements. WoW Classic isn’t lifting the old client either, it’s a repurposed game client that bears similarity to the one introduced with the Legion expansion. While you’ll be enjoying all those crisp polygons from 2004, you won’t deal with the clunky UI of the same era. World of Warcraft Classic firmly establishes itself in the pantheon of toaster-friendly PC games.
