We didn’t get news of a gen 4 remake. Instead, Pokemon Unite, a portable MOBA title, has been announced.
Pokemon Unite is a 5v5 MOBA for mobile devices and the Nintendo Switch. It involves capturing Pokemon and winning by scoring the most points. Currently, the known playable characters are Snorlax, Pikachu, Talonflame, Machamp, Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Clefairy, Gengar, and Lucario. The game is crossplay, and is being developed in partnership with Tencent.
I’m not opposed to MOBAs, and have clocked in an impressive amount of time on LoL, but I’m hardly alone in my disappointment.
Joe Merrick is going to have a hard time shilling for this one.
